I have to say your opening thoughts made me think already. I never thought about your concept of adding one person to the family but doubling the relationships. It is amazing the number of different ways that things can relate to each other. I am working a lot of number relationships with my first grade students as we work on building our number sense. I am exited fro this project and the chance to think more.

I am currently working with student teachers so your journey and the responses from those in this group will help me provide these new teachers with new insights. Also, my husband is Dutch so comparing his education with mine has been an adventure in itself. To see the changes as they occur in the US and the Netherlands will be very interesting.

Hi Jana, I am excited to be a participant in this work and eager to learn more about the strategies, resources, structures, and systems used in another educational system. With language being a key component in math instruction, in both context and discourse, I am curious to see how the Netherlands addresses this challenge for students with language needs. Thank you for inviting us all on this journey. ~Sending you good wishes from afar.
